Solution serializes, finds fakes
Oracle and New Momentum are collaborating to help drug makers combat counterfeits. The effort is expected to offer pharmaceutical companies the ability to track units through the supply chain as well as quickly find the fakes.
The enterprise software giant is developing a manufacturing solution that provides for the serialization of each sellable unit of a drug and the tracking of that unit through the supply chain via electronic pedigree. New Momentum, for its part, is integrating its real-time view of counterfeit suspects, which aids manufacturers in proactive anti-counterfeiting efforts while maintaining compliance with serialization and pedigree mandates.
"The best way to meet counterfeiting challenges is to integrate internal enterprise and supply chain data with external data on counterfeit suspects and activity," says New Momentum CEO Stuart Clifton.
Prototypes will be demonstrated next week at Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco.
