Schott optimistic for syringe fill line
Schott Pharmaceuticals is adding a ready-to-fill syringe line at its plant in South Lebanon Township, PA. It's Schott's first manufacturing site for the syringes in the U.S., according to a press report.
The facility features two new cleanrooms in which pre-made syringes with needles are washed and packaged, prior to being shipped for sterilization and then shipped to pharmaceutical companies. According to the report, Schott may eventually bring glass-forming production for the syringes to the plant as well.
Some 40 jobs are being added, with an investment of $14 million. Planned expansion in the following two years could lead to another 80 jobs.
