Pundit ranks supply chain leaders
Johnson & Johnson tops a list of companies that deliver value across a health care supply chain, from manufacturer to patient. AMR Research, recently acquired by Gartner, conducted the study, which resulted in a top 25 list of drug and device makers, hospitals and distributors, reports Pharmaceutical Commerce magazine.
Also in the top 25: Abbott Labs, Novartis, GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, Covidien, Merck, Genentech, Alcon Laboratories, Roche and Amgen.
A goal of the ranking, says the research consultancy, is to demonstrate the benefits of a demand-driven supply chain focus on collaborating with trading partners, in addition to sales and operations planning. The analysis includes only publicly traded companies. Researchers combined quantitative assessments of return on assets and inventory turns with qualitative rankings.
