Most cases of drug cargo theft now involve first-time victims. That's a positive trend, says an industry group.

Drugmakers suffering such thefts--most recently Bristol-Myers Squibb--are now taking tougher measures against increasingly organized thieves. They're also reporting the thefts in ways that help officials crack down on the crimes, according to the Pharmaceutical Cargo Security Coalition, as reported in the Financial Times.

Drugmakers are taking such measures as increasing their scrutiny of transport companies, requiring a co-driver, providing them with guns, and using tracking technologies on trucks and drugs, according to the article.
