Oracle debuts pedigree product

Oracle has announced the availability of Pedigree and Serialization Manager, a mass-serialization and pedigree application. The solution generates, stores, transmits and authenticates drug product serial data and ePedigree data as products traverse the supply chain, according to the company. In addition to its counterfeit threat identification capabilities, the product can aid in compliance and returns management.

The offering uses an open standards-based Service Oriented Architecture and Oracle Fusion Middleware applications for integration with existing Oracle and third-party systems for manufacturing, packaging and shipping and receiving

The enterprise software giant announced last fall that it was teaming with New Momentum, a provider of SaaS-based anti-counterfeiting and channel integrity solutions and member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, to incorporate internal enterprise and supply chain data with external data on counterfeit suspects and activity, as reported. Goals at that time were to serialize each sellable unit and then track that unit through the supply chain via electronic pedigree.
