Roche to change lobbyist stripes
The pharma-biotech dividing line just got a little fuzzier with Roche's plans to drop its membership in the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association and sign on with the Biotechnology Industry Organization. After the big pharma's consumption of big biotech Genentech, the company finds that "Genentech and Roche believe BIO's purpose is closely aligned with the direction of the new company and, therefore, can represent the company's interest in Washington,'' spokeswoman Darian Wilson is quoted in a New Jersey Star Leger report.
