Focus on relationships in China
Relationships that are open, transparent and direct are fundamental to successful relationships with Chinese suppliers. An article in the summer issue of Chamber Eye (the magazine of the British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong), written by Deloitte, highlights the risks of hidden supply chain links (use of sub- and sub-subcontractors). Author Jim Ridgwick uses the recent contamination of the blood-thinner Heparin as a case history demonstrating the risks of such links. The Chamber article is not yet online; here are summaries by China Performance Group and CSR Asia.
