Counterfeiter gets one year in jail
Kum Leung Chow, aka Lawrence Chow, 59, has been sentenced to a year in jail for conspiring to distribute counterfeit drugs and trafficking in pharmaceuticals with false labeling and counterfeit trademarks.
Agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Office of Homeland Security Investigations, and the FDA's Office of Criminal Investigations found that Chow obtained fake Viagra and Cialis through a Hong Kong-based company, Kingdom International Enterprises. He offered packages of Viagra and Cialis via two Internet sites, according to The Cypress Times in Texas.
Undercover ICE agents purchased hundreds of the tablets from Chow via the Internet. Shipping documents accompanying the pharmaceuticals indicate they were exported from mainland China and Hong Kong.
